This Privacy Policy describes how FlipXpress Digital Technologies Limited ("FlipEx," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and shares information about Flippers (users) ("you" or "user") of the FlipEx app and website (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account and using our Service, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service.

We collect the following types of information from users of our Service:

Personal Information: We collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and government-issued identification details (for KYC/AML compliance) when you register for an account, complete identity verification, or otherwise provide it to us.

Financial and Transaction Information: We collect bank account details, wallet addresses, transaction history, gift card details, trade activity, and payout information to process transactions on the Service.

Device Information: We collect information about your device, including device make and model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address, mobile network information, and other technical information.

Leaderboard and Public Rankings

The Service includes a leaderboard feature that recognizes top users based on trading activity and other engagement metrics. Leaderboard standings are published periodically within the app and may also be included in our newsletter and other official FlipEx communications.

Consent - By creating an account, you accept our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy via the consent checkbox shown during sign-up. That consent includes consent to the collection, processing, and publication of your leaderboard information as described in this section. Participation in the leaderboard is automatic for eligible users who have accepted these terms.

Anonymization - The information published on the leaderboard is anonymized. We do not publish your full name, email address, phone number, profile photo, or any other directly identifying personal information alongside your leaderboard ranking. Other users viewing the leaderboard cannot identify you from the published information. Each user is able to identify only their own entry on the leaderboard, through the in-app interface where they are signed in to their account.

Data uploaded to our servers - Leaderboard standings are computed on, and stored on, servers operated by FlipEx and our cloud infrastructure providers. The underlying transaction and activity data used to compute these standings is the same data already collected as part of your normal use of the Service.

Opting out - If you do not wish to appear on the leaderboard, even in anonymized form, you may opt out at any time by contacting us at support@flipexapp.com. Opting out of the leaderboard does not affect your ability to use the other features of the Service.

How We Share Your Information

We may share the information we collect with the following categories of third parties:

Service Providers - We share information with third-party service providers that help us operate the Service, including cloud hosting providers, payment processors, identity verification providers, analytics providers, customer support tools, and email and communications platforms (including the platform used to send our newsletter). These providers process information on our behalf and under our instructions.

Business Partners - We may share information with business partners, including liquidity providers, crypto exchanges, and bill payment aggregators, to facilitate the services you request through the app.

Legal and Regulatory Authorities - We may disclose information in response to a subpoena, court order, regulatory request, or other legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, prevent fraud, or protect the rights, property, or safety of FlipEx, our users, or others.

Corporate Transactions - If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

With Your Consent - We may share information with other parties when you direct us to do so or otherwise consent to the sharing.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your information is uploaded to and stored on servers operated by FlipEx and our trusted cloud infrastructure providers. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to safeguard your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices and Rights

You have the following choices and rights regarding your information:

Account Information: You can review and update your account information at any time through your in-app profile settings.

Marketing Communications: You can opt out of marketing emails, including our newsletter, by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by adjusting your notification preferences in the app.

Leaderboard: You can opt out of appearing on the leaderboard at any time by contacting support@flipexapp.com.

Device Permissions: You can manage permissions (such as camera, photo library, location, and notifications) through your device settings.

Access, Correction, and Deletion: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at support@flipexapp.com. We will respond in accordance with applicable law. Note that we may be required to retain certain information for legal, regulatory, or audit purposes.

Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for use by children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information.

International Data Transfers

FlipEx is based in Nigeria. If you access the Service from outside Nigeria, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Nigeria or in other countries where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.
